Silkroad
The silkroad is an extremely robust travel bike; for its design the "less is more" principle was the main focus. By integrating the rack into the mainframe weak points you typically find on most bikes (like braze-ons and screws) are eliminated offering greater strength at the same time. The geometry of the rack is a stress optimized design. By the integration of the rack into the main frame the weight could be reduced and the resistance increased at the same time.
- the integrated rack increases the resistance and durability at a lower weight
- the version with Rohloff internal gear hub is designed with an excenter bottom bracket
- for simple adjustment
- high-strength CrMo frame tubing for a high durability
- braze-ons and dropouts are made from stainless steel
- asymmetrical tout terrain steel fork for balanced load sharing with disc brake use
- tension-proof light cables with special cable guides
- handlebar stop to protect the frame from damages
- increased stability and lower weight due to 26"wheels
- integrated stand mount
[The Silkroad refers to the oldest trade routes between China and Europe. It served the exchange of trade goods and transported knowledge of the each one to the other culture. Going through desert more or less from the Mediterranean to China it is one of the most inhospitable routes of the earth. The silkroad is about 8000 km long and is surely one of the most demanding and difficult roads that can be traveled by bike.]
